“I’m a very happy man because we produced the quality of football we want to produce,” Wenger told Arsenal Player. “If I had told you that before the game, we would all have signed up.
“That’s why we all love the game - because it can give you this kind of spectacle that you want to see. That should give us the taste to want more and hopefully it will.
“The intensity [to our display] is a little bit linked with belief. When you have a doubt in your mind, you’re hesitant and that’s what I could feel against Southampton. We redressed it well against Hull, at Nottingham Forest and again here.”
Wenger hailed Walcott’s performance and repeated his belief that the England international is in for a big campaign.
“He’s committed, he does his job offensively and defensively and he’s still dangerous,” the manager said. “I like what he’s doing at the moment.
“He’s an intelligent player with a strong character. I told you before the season started that you would see a different Walcott this year.”
