Arsenal Students hit the heights

Arsenal in the Community NCFE students

We recently celebrated a fantastic day of achievements as our NCFE Level 2 and Level 3 students received their results. Our students have excelled this year, with all 15 Level 3 students and all seven Level 2 students passing their qualifications.

The NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Sport (Sport, Exercise & Fitness) is a one-year, full-time course designed for learners aged 16 and over. It provides the foundational skills needed to either start a career in sport or advance within the sector. Successful completion of this course lays the groundwork for progression to NCFE Level 3.

The NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity (Sports Coaching) is a two-year, full-time programme also intended for learners aged 16 and over. It equips students with the knowledge, skills and understanding required for careers in the sport and physical activity sectors. This diploma not only prepares students for the workplace, but also supports those interested in pursuing higher education.

Our Level 2 and 3 courses are delivered in partnership with United Colleges Group with students having their full-time education courses delivered at The Arsenal Hub. The programmes combine the theoretica knowledge of Sports Science and Coaching with enhanced practical work experience and PHSE curriculum.

On results day, we welcomed the students back to The Arsenal Hub to collect their results, and there were plenty of smiles as they opened their envelopes.

Results highlights

Level 2 Students: 71% achieved a distinction or higher, with 100% earning at least a merit grade.

Level 3 Students: 93% achieved a distinction grade or higher.

In terms of next steps, five students will be progressing to university, another five will continue with Arsenal in the Community by joining our Coach Development Programme, and the remaining five will move directly into employment.

A massive congratulations to all the students, as well as to their dedicated tutors – Martin Davis, Anthony David, and Holly Walker – and our entire Community team for their role in this outstanding achievement.
