WHAT HAPPENED
Jill Roord scored a hat-trick while Jordan Nobbs also netted on her return from injury as we hit six past our north London rivals to end our pre-season in style.
We dominated the early proceedings and almost broke the deadlock through Vivianne Miedema, but her well-taken half-volley deflected inches wide.
Moments later, we were rewarded for our quick start when Kim Little smartly picked out Roord from a corner and the midfielder made no mistake when placing the ball past Chloe Morgan.
Miedema looked dangerous and would have doubled our advantage were it not for Ria Percival’s well-timed block.
But we did soon strike again and it came midway through the first half, when Jennifer Beattie tapped in from close range following a mazy run and cross from Leonie Maier.
Five minutes into the second half, and on her return from injury, Nobbs netted our third with a cultured finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Miedema then got in on the action when she controlled the ball with her back to goal, spun her defender and drilled it into the bottom corner.
Morgan stood in the way of Beth Mead adding another, but our fifth goal would come just three minutes later when Roord latched onto Miedema’s cut-back.
The Netherlands international then completed her hat-trick when she fired a first-time effort past Morgan to complete the rout and bring our pre-season to a close.
