The game against Colchester United was another chance for the team to gain valuable match playing time.
Without a regular league fixture programme these games are vital to our progress this season. We started well having the majority of possession, the tempo and quality of our play was good and this showed with the first goal.
Good play down the left hand side allowed Rachel Yankey to pull back a cross and Kim little to fire low past the goalkeeper.
Colchester were well organised and had a great attitude to the game as we continued to have the majority of possession. A good strike from Jordan Nobbs from distance was saved by the keeper but Julie Fleeting was on hand to put in the rebound with her first appearance this season.
It was good fro her to open her scoring account. 2-0 at half time.
The second half continued in the same vain as the first but the tempo started to drop, but we kept pushing and a superb volley from Katie Chapman and a penalty from Julie Fleeting completed the scoring.
