We’re proud to announce that our Women & Girls’ Football Development Coordinator Billie Graham has been nominated for this year’s Football Black List.
Through her role at Arsenal in the Community, Billie continues to make a significant impact on the development of women’s football within the club, encouraging and inspiring young girls in football.
The Football Black List, established in 2008 by Leon Mann MBE and Rodney Hinds, aims to tackle the under-representation of people from African and Caribbean backgrounds in key decision-making roles in the game by highlighting the achievements of those in influential positions. Members of the Arsenal family recognised in the Football Black List over the years include Celia Facey, Beverley Nicholas and Rachel Yankey.
Billie first joined Arsenal in the Community as a volunteer coach on the Arsenal in the Community Coach Development Programme. She developed as a coach and made a real impact on the groups she worked with across our range of community projects, before progressing to a sessional coach role on our PL Primary Stars Programme. In September 2023 she secured a full-time position as Arsenal in the Community's Women & Girls’ Coordinator.
Billie has since played a key role in expanding our football programmes for women and girls, notably by starting the Under-9 Girls League at The Arsenal Hub and working closely with local clubs to inspire and support young girls.
Billie consistently creates a warm and welcoming environment for participants and her efforts extend beyond the pitch, creating pathways into sessions and teams through her delivery in local primary schools.
