Academy internationals: Obi nets twice for Denmark

Chido Obi scored twice for Denmark’s under-17s in their European U17 Championship qualifiers during the international break. 

Playing 125 minutes across their three fixtures, Chido scored in a 4-1 win over Lithuania and a 2-2 draw against Austria to take his tally up to five goals in six games for the U17s. Denmark are second in their group with four points from three games, three points behind Austria.

For England’s under-21s, Brooke Norton-Cuffy replaced Tino Livramento in the 73rd minute of Monday’s 3-2 defeat against Ukraine. Lee Carsley’s Young Lions are second in Group F of the Euro U21 qualification group stage, three points behind Ukraine.

Lino Sousa was involved in all three of England under-19s’ draws against Montenegro (0-0), Wales (1-1) and Austria (0-0), playing 125 minutes across the trio of fixtures, leaving them third in Group L of the European U19 Championship qualification round.

Wales meanwhile are bottom of the group with two draws (0-0 v Austria and 1-1 v England) and one defeat (3-0 v Montenegro). Omari Benjamin played 162 minutes across the three games for the Welsh.

In Group E of the competition, Michal Rosiak played 90 minutes for Poland in their 2-0 defeat against North Macedonia, before coming on in the 60th minute of a 3-0 win against Kazakhstan and played 62 minutes of a 3-3 draw against Germany. Those results put Poland third in the group with four points from three games.

Away from qualifying action, Maldini Kacurri came on in the 53rd minute of Albania under-19s' 1-1 friendly draw against Turkey.
