Alessia Russo has been voted our women’s Player of the Month for December.
She scored twice as we beat Aston Villa 4-0 at Emirates Stadium early in the month, and got another brace away to Valerenga in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Russo scored the only goal of the game in our 1-0 win at Liverpool and got another in a 3-2 win at home to Bayern Munich.
Her strikes helped to propel us to the top of Group C in the Champions League and to keep the pressure on Manchester City and Chelsea in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
