Black History Month in our community

BHM gallery

Last Friday, Arsenal in the Community held a special day of activities for 70 students at The Arsenal Hub.

Our local primary schools embraced creativity in a session centred around our 2024/25 away kit, designed in collaboration with adidas and British African heritage brand, Labrum London.

With the help of Foday Dumbuya, founder of Labrum and the visionary behind the kit, and Anna Njie from Go Africa, students designed their own kits, and learnt about African art and patterns.

Foday explained the process of creating our 2024/25 away kit, hand-drawing the design using traditional pan-African colours and patterns. These colours and cultural cues come together to pay homage to his Sierra Leone heritage and champion the club’s past and present connection to the African diaspora in London and beyond.

Arsenal in the Community are visiting and delivering Black History Month workshops to eight local primary schools throughout October.
