The Rocky 7 project take part in the first ever football match to take place “on the moon” at Lightroom, an immersive art venue in King's Cross.
Arsenal in the Community and our Rocky 7 group - a youth leadership and development programme set up at the 20th anniversary of the passing of Arsenal legend David Rocastle – took a number of young people from our Premier League Kicks and Positive Futures programmes access opportunities to gain qualifications and new experiences across London.
This trip was a unique opportunity to take the young people to do something that is completely out of the ordinary, something that AitC provides for the local community – providing unorthodox and extraordinary social activities to inspire and excite.
A mixture of youngsters played in a 5-a-side tournament at the installation after being given the chance to take in the new Moonwalkers show, which is narrated by Tom Hanks and offers a unique new perspective on humankind’s past and future voyages to the moon.
