Eidevall on team news to face Everton

Leah Williamson and Alessia Russo battle in training

Jonas Eidevall has provided a team news update ahead of Sunday's match with Everton in the Barclays Women's Super League.

In a huge boost to the squad, Leah Williamson returned to team training after missing the opening two league fixtures. Our vice-captain had been unavailable due to concussion protocol since our away leg against BK Hacken in the UWCL qualifying.

"We have players returning and progressing really well. I think both Leah Williamson and Steph Catley have the possibility to make the squad for the weekend game. So that's obviously positive news for us."

Catley, meanwhile, has spent even longer on the sidelines. Our Aussie full-back sustained an injury ahead of our season opener against Rangers and is finally back in contention for our tie with the Toffees.

Elsewhere, Laura Wienroither was due to make her 50th club appearance last weekend and was named in Eidevall's starting XI, only to be subbed off for Emily Fox before the match had even kicked off.

"Laura, unfortunately, couldn't start the game against Leicester. There was an incident in the warm-up. It's not a major injury, it's a minor injury, but it does make her unavailable for the weekend."
