Speaking after the full-time whistle, Caitlin Foord believes our squad will turn our fortunes around just in time for the end of the WSL season.
Our Australian scored her 13th goal of the season at Broadfield Stadium, but we ultimately fell to a 4-2 loss against the Seagulls on Monday afternoon.
Here is everything she had to say:
on today's result...
I think it just wasn't really good enough on our behalf. Obviously, they had some chances and they took them and that's the way the game goes. We had plenty of chances but just missed that final goal. The keeper made good saves as well, so it just wasn't good enough all round today."
on whether a lack of control prevented us from getting back into the game...
Yeah, I think so. Even from the start of the game, we didn't start off the best. We created momentum and then they score, and it just kind of kills the momentum. I think once we had that momentum, we needed to put the ball away and kill the game early on. We didn't really do that today and it came back to bite us in the end.
on bouncing back this weekend...
We're preparing ourselves now for the Champions League final. It's a massive game at home. We need to win, we need to secure a second spot and then go on to the final. I guess that's our last opportunity to prepare in a competitive game. We need to make the most of it.
on whether our history of comebacks will aid us going forward...
Yeah, I mean I hope so. That’s the plan. This is two games in a row. We didn't want two games in a row to happen to us and now it has. We can't let it be three. As I said, it's our last game to prepare, so we have to be at our best to be in the best place moving forward.
