Gabriel Jesus ended 2024 amongst the goals, and as a consequence has started the new year by being named our December Player of the Month!
The Brazilian forward netted five times to lead the way during the seven-game stretch, and also grabbed an assist for good measure as he enjoyed a fine return to form to help fire us into the last four of the League Cup, and keep us in the title hunt.
That saw him scoop up 50% of the votes cast by our supporters to beat the competition from William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli and Jurrien Timber who were the other nominees after their excellent contributions.
Having begun the month with an assist in the 3-0 win against Monaco, the highlight of Gabby's month was a stunning first hat-trick since moving to north London from Manchester, as he bagged a treble against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup. All the goals came in the second half as we turned around a 1-0 deficit to reach the final four of the competition.
Then when faced with the same opponent in the Premier League just three days later, the Brazilian continued his form with a close-range finish followed by a superb curling effort that helped us on our way to a 5-1 win in south London.
It is the second time that Gabby has won our club award, with the other occasion coming back in August 2022 when he began his Gunners career with three goals and three assists in his first five games.
