How our academy internationals got on this month

Max Dowman

Max Dowman provided one goal and two assists for England under-17s during the March international break.

He played 85 minutes of a 2-0 win over Israel, setting up a goal for Alejandro Rodriguez, before playing 64 minutes of a 3-2 win over Slovenia and getting another assist.

In the following 5-0 win over Northern Ireland, Max dribbled his way from outside the area towards the six-yard box and tucked it beyond the goalkeeper.

Jack Porter was in goal for two of those games, keeping one clean sheet.

The Young Lions have finished top of Group G in the UEFA Euro U17 qualifiers, with the upcoming tournament hosted in Albania in May.

Ethan Nwaneri was also among the goals for England. After making his under-21s debut as a 78th minute substitute during a 5-3 defeat to France, he scored just 10 minutes into his first start with a trademark finish as England beat Portugal 4-2 in an international friendly.

At the other end of the pitch, Tommy Setford got two clean sheets for Englandā€™s under-19s as they beat Wales - featuring Brayden Clarke - 2-0, and Portugal 1-0. Seven points from three games left England top of Group G of the UEFA Euro U19 qualifiers to book their spot at Juneā€™s finals in Romania.

Wales came third in the group with three points.

Another England goalkeeper came from our academy as Khari Ranson made his debut for the under-18s, coming on for the second half of a 2-2 friendly draw with France.

Elsewhere, Ceadach Oā€™Neill was on the scoresheet for Northern Irelandā€™s under-17s, scoring from the penalty spot in a 1-1 draw with Slovenia. He then played 90 minutes of a 1-0 defeat to Israel as Northern Ireland finished bottom of their Euro U17 qualifying group with one point.

Louis Zecevic-John provided an assist for Milos Soprenic as Serbia under-17s drew 1-1 at home to Hungary. He also played 58 minutes of a 1-0 win over Netherlands and 90 minutes of a 3-1 defeat to Portugal, finishing second in Group D of the Euro U17 qualifiers.

Last but not least, Alex Marciniak played 90 minutes of Wales under-17sā€™ 0-0 draw with Azerbaijan to go top of Group F in the Euro U17 qualifiers.
