Mikel Arteta has shared fitness updates on Ethan Nwaneri, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Ben White.
Nwaneri came off in the 81st minute of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to West Ham United, but our manager said in his pre-Nottingham Forest press conference that it was nothing serious.
“Ethan was just cramping, obviously his load has been very different in recent weeks, but he’s fine,” he said.
As for Saka and Martinelli, who have both been sidelined with hamstring injuries, Arteta said: “Bukayo and Gabi are progressing really well but are still a bit far from coming back.”
One positive from the weekend’s game was the return of White, who was introduced in the 86th minute at Emirates Stadium and almost found the back of the net moments later.
“He’s a player that has given us something very, very special, especially in that right unit,” Arteta added. “We haven’t played with that right unit at all this season with him, Bukayo and Martin as well - a unit that has played so much football together.
“It’s great to have him back, it’s more options and his energy, the way he is around the team and what he generates, he’s certainly been missed.”
