We are delighted to confirm Karl Hein has signed a new contract with the club.
The Estonia international joined us in 2018 from his hometown club, Nõmme United, where he made his debut at the age of 16.
Karl began his Arsenal career as a scholar and turned professional the following year. During the 2020/21 campaign, he featured in our first-team squad for the first time in a Europa League game.
He spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Championship side Reading, making five league appearances for the Royals, and went on to make his full Arsenal debut in a Carabao Cup game against Brighton the following November.
Karl said: “I’m delighted to extend my contract and continue my journey in this amazing club after six years. Hopefully, there will be even more good memories and successes for the club.”
Sporting Director Edu added: “We’re very happy that Karl will continue his development as an Arsenal player.
“He’s an exciting prospect and a popular member of the squad.
“We look forward to seeing him progress to the next stage of his career.”
Manager Mikel Arteta said: “Karl has continued to impress us with his attitude and commitment to getting better every day.
“We value being part of his continued development and I want to congratulate him on earning a new deal with the club.”
Karl's new contract is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
