Michelle Agyemang netted her fourth goal of the season, but it wasn't enough to prevent Brighton & Hove Albion from losing to Liverpool.
The teenager tucked away her effort at the back post in the second half after Olivia Smith and Leanne Kiernan had struck for the visitors. The result leaves the Seagulls sixth in the table with three games remaining.
In Italy, Nuno Tavares exited the Europa League at the quarter-final stage with Lazio, losing on penalties to Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt.
The Portuguese international, who was returning from an adductor injury, came on in the second half for Adam Marusic but picked up a hamstring injury and was taken off in extra-time for Elseid Hysaj.
There was plenty of interest in the Women's Championship as Laila Harbert and Vivienne Lia's Southampton hosted Freya Godfrey and Teyah Goldie's London City Lionesses.
It was the visitors who emerged triumphant as Godfrey picked up two assists in a 4-1 victory for the Lionesses as they stay top of the table, with Goldie playing the full 90 minutes at centre-back. Harbert started the match for the hosts with Lia coming on as a substitute in the 64th minute. The result leaves the Saints in eighth place.
Elsewhere in the Women's Championship, Madison Earl was a second half substitute in Sheffield United's 0-0 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers. Earl replaced Maria Farrugia in the 65th minute of the contest at Bramall Lane.
Over in Portugal, Fabio Vieira continued to help FC Porto towards European qualification in a 2-1 win over Famalicão.
Having picked up the player of the match award in his previous match, Fabio played another 83 minutes as Rodrigo Mora netted twice in the victory. The result keeps Porto just a point behind Braga in the race for third spot and a place in the Europa League next season.
Laura Wienroither came on in the 72nd minute in Manchester City's 1-1 draw against Everton in the Women's Super League. That draw leaves City seven points adrift of the Champions League qualification spots.
In Spain, Albert Sambi Lokonga was an unused substitute as Sevilla were held a 1-1 draw at home to Alaves. Gerard Fernandez opened the scoring before Kike Garcia equalised for the visitors. Maldini Kacurri was also an unused substitute in Bromely's 1-0 victory over Morecambe in League Two.
In Brazil, Marquinhos was an unused substitute in Cruzerio's 1-0 defeat at Bragantino.
