Loan Watch: Eight Gunners in action

Eight of our players out on loan got minutes under their belts last week.

Fabio Vieira played 76 minutes of FC Porto’s 2-1 win away to Estoril Praia on Sunday. Porto are now third in Liga Portugal, six points behind Benfica (who have a game in hand) and nine shy of Sporting.

Albert Sambi Lokonga got 85 minutes for Sevilla in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat away to Real Betis to go 11th in La Liga with 36 points from 29 games.

A new season began for Marquinhos and Cruzeiro, as he came on in the 83rd minute of their 2-1 win at home to Mirassol on Saturday, going fourth at the beginning of the new Brazilian Serie A season.

In women’s football, Laura Wienroither and Michelle Agyemang went head to head as Manchester City won 2-1 away to Brighton & Hove Albion.

City are fourth in the Barclays Women’s Super League, seven points behind us and Manchester United, while the Seagulls remained fifth on 22 points.

Teyah Goldie and Freya Godfrey have gone top of the Barclays Women’s Championship with London Lionesses, who won 2-1 away to Newcastle United on Sunday.

London City are two points ahead of second-placed Birmingham City.

Southampton are eighth in the division with 18 points from 17 games after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat away to Blackburn Rovers, which Laila Harbert played 90 minutes of and Vivienne Lia got 75 minutes in.
