Mead: "I'm proud to hit milestones for Arsenal"

Beth Mead scored her 50th Barclays Women's Super League goal for Arsenal this afternoon, bagging a brace in a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.

After the game, our number 9 shared her thoughts on the performance, hitting another milestone for the club and her partnership with fellow Lioness, Chloe Kelly.

Here is everything she had to say:

on today's result...

Yes, it was nice to get on the scoresheet a few times, play with the team. Obviously, we're playing really good football at the moment. It's enjoyable to be part of the squad and we're on the up this block.

on her connection with Chloe Kelly...

Yes, it's nice to play with her compared to playing against her! Me and Chloe have played together for a long time, both for Arsenal, early days for Chloe, and at England. And I know what quality Chloe's got on the ball when she puts the cross in. And I said to her yesterday, I'll get on the end of one if you put it there. And we did just that.

on scoring her 50th WSL goal for Arsenal...

I'm always proud to make milestones for, obviously, Arsenal. And yes, I'm enjoying my football and it's nice to get 50 goals for the Arsenal.

on whether she meant the second goal...

I keep saying I didn't mean it, but it keeps happening. So it must be in some way. I always try to put it in a good area when I put a cross in. And what better area than the back of the net?

on the upcoming international break...

There's an exciting block to look forward to. I'm sure everyone's proud to go away and play for their country. But obviously, when we get back, we'll be raring to go and get the chance to play against some teams like Lyon.
