Jack Wilshere spoke to the media following Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester City. This is what he had to say:
on a hard-fought drawā¦
We lost a player early and it is tough to respond. City had a disappointing result midweek, but after going 2-1 down we showed good character to come back.
on losing Welbeckā¦
He is an attacking player so you lose that little bit extra in the final third, so of course we missed him. It was nice for me as I got to get on the pitch, but when you lose a player of Dannyās style, you are going to miss something.
on being backā¦
As a player, these are the games you want to be involved in. When the game started, I was watching it thinking it was high intensity and this is what I need. Lucky I got to come on and get 70-odd minutes under my belt, so Iām happy.
on facing Aston Villa nextā¦
We like to think we can win most of our home games. I donāt know what happened to Aston Villa this season, but I donāt expect them to come and just let us beat them. We said a few weeks back that we donāt want to get fourth, we donāt want to have to face a qualifier. We want to be straight in there and enjoy the season without having to play a big game beforehand.
