Takuma Asano scored his first goal for Stuttgart as they won 3-1 at Karlsruhe.

The Japanese forward broke the deadlock, before Simon Terrode made it 2-0. Moritz Stoppelkamp pulled one back from the penalty spot, before Alexandru Maxim re-established the visitors' two-goal lead to seal the win.

Jack Wilshere played the full 90 minutes of Bournemouth’s 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough. Gaston Ramirez and Stewart Downing scored the goals for Boro, for whom Calum Chambers played the full 90 minutes before being booked in injury time.

Wojciech Szczesny played the full match and kept a clean sheet as Roma drew 0-0 at Empoli.

Joel Campbell was a 64th-minute substitute for Sporting Lisbon in their 0-0 draw at Nacional.

Jon Toral played 77 minutes and picked up a yellow card in Grenada’s 1-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Rafinha scored the game’s only goal.
