After over a year away from the scoresheet, Victoria Pelova finally scored her first goal since returning from an ACL injury in March.
Our Dutch midfielder made a superb impact off the bench in our 5-1 victory over Leicester City and spoke about her delight after the match.
Here is everything she had to say:
on how it felt to score her first goal back from injury:
Unbelievable. And I must say, like, how my teammates responded was actually the best. That was better than the goal itself.
on the support from her teammates:
Unreal. I mean, you could see it with the goal. They were happier than me. Leah couldn't put me down. I was like, ‘Put me down, I don't know how to smile anymore!’ But no, it was unbelievable.
on getting more and more minutes under her belt:
It feels so good to be here with the girls, and like, we have important games coming up. So it feels good to be like part of it again.
on tonight's performance:
It's so nice to see the girls, how they play, how we all played. I feel like we're unstoppable.
on playing such exciting, attacking football:
It's honestly so exciting. Even if you just come in [off the bench], you can just attack. So for me, yeah, that's good.
on looking ahead to Saturday's Champions League semi-final:
Me and Stina just talked about it in the dressing room before the game. And yeah, we're already talking about it, so we have belief and at the Emirates, it's always unreal.
