William Saliba is through to the Euro 2024 semi-finals after France defeated Portugal in a penalty shootout.
The nailbiting clash remained goalless throughout 90 minutes and extra time in Hamburg, forcing the two sides to duke it out from the spot.
Portugal substitute Joao Felix was the only player to miss from the spot, with his effort hitting the outside of the post. It was then time for Theo Hernandez, whose thumping penalty kick sent France through in style.
Saliba has yet to concede a goal in open play this tournament. Our 23-year-old defender impressed during his 120-minute shift, shutting out the Portuguese frontline and pairing eight clearances and two blocks with a 98% passing accuracy.
Didier Deschamps' side now meet Spain on Tuesday for a spot in the Euro 2024 final.

HEARTBREAK FOR HAVERTZ AS SPAIN PROGRESS

Elsewhere, Kai Havertz's Euros journey has come to an end after the tournament hosts were knocked out by a heartbreaking late winner from Spain's Mikel Merino.
Havertz had an early chance to give Germany the lead, rising high to meet Joshua Kimmich's cross, but he was unable to get enough power on the header to test Unai Simon.
Spain's dynamic teenage duo - Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal - provided huge threats down the wings but neither side was able to break through in the first half.
The deadlock was broken in the 51st minute when Yamal played a great ball to an onrushing Dani Olmo and the RB Leipzig midfielder slotted home.
A poor goal kick gifted Germany a chance to equalise late on. Havertz chased down a loose ball in the Spain half, with Unai Simon off his line, but our forward's delicate chip went just shy of the target.
Spain were mere seconds away from reaching the semi-finals before Bundesliga star Florian Wirtz did find that equaliser, spoiling the party with a crisp finish.
Deep into extra time, it was Spain's turn to provide some last-minute heartbreak. Dani Olmo curled a cross into the box and Real Sociedad's Merino made no mistake with his free header, sending the Spaniards through.
David Raya was on the bench for the tie, having last featured for Spain in their 1-0 win over Albania in the group stages.
Havertz leaves the tournament having played in all five of Germany's matches and with two goals and an assist to his name.
