"Your roots always pull you back."
Those were the words of Chloe Kelly on social media after we announced the loan signing of her from Manchester City on Thursday night.
As she alluded to, Chloe is no stranger to north London. Find out six fun facts about her below!
She’s one of our own

The loan move back to N5 is something of a homecoming for Chloe, who joined our Centre of Excellence at the age of 12 in 2010 after beginning her youth career at Queens Park Rangers.
Going above and beyond

There could be no questioning Chloe’s commitment. While in our academy, she would regularly travel by train on a two-hour round trip to train with us.
In a BBC Sport interview in 2019, she explained: “Arsenal was the other side of London. I travelled two hours in a round trip to training but that was the sacrifice I had to make. My parents didn't drive so I had to get the train from school. I'd get home at about 10.30 - 11pm and go back to school the next day!"
Kelly 🤝 Kelly

Chloe looked up to our assistant coach Kelly Smith, who was the all-time top goalscorer for the Lionesses until Ellen White took that record last year.
Kelly Smith was still playing at Arsenal when Chloe Kelly joined our first team, and the latter said she was a bit hesitant about putting a tackle in on her idol!
Instant impact

It didn’t take long for Chloe to make an impact in our first team - just 22 minutes, in fact, with a debut goal in our 3-0 win over Watford in the League Cup in 2015.
She went onto make 19 appearances for us in all competitions between 2015 and 2018, scoring nine goals, before joining Everton.
Lionesses legend

Chloe wrote her name into England history with the winning goal for the Lionesses in the 110th minute of the Women’s Euro 2022 final against Germany.
“This is unreal,” she said after the game at Wembley Stadium. “This is what dreams are made of. It's unbelievable. To be here and score the winner, these girls are special, this manager is special. This is amazing. I just want to celebrate now."
International achievements continue

Chloe also won the Golden Boot in the 2023 Arnold Clark Cup with the Lionesses, reached the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023, and she has now won 48 caps and scored seven goals for her country.
She’ll be hoping to help England to more Euros success at this year’s tournament in Switzerland.
