Slegers' superb 11 games in charge - so far!

Renee Slegers Arsenal Women FC

Renée Slegers has been appointed our new permanent head coach, thanks to a superb stint as our interim boss that saw her claim 10 wins and a draw from her 11 matches in charge to ensure she landed the role full-time.

Take a look back at her incredible run in the dugout so far, which will continue on Sunday when we take on Crystal Palace in the WSL - a match you can stream right here on Arsenal.com and the official app.

GAME 1 - Arsenal 4-1 Valerenga

Russo vs Valerenga

A confidence-boosting victory kicked off Renée's' time as interim head coach thanks to a first group stage victory in the Women's Champions League.

Emily Fox, Caitlin Foord, Mariona Caldentey and Alessia Russo all got in on the act to see off Norweigan champions Valerenga at a lively Emirates Stadium.

GAME 2 - West Ham 0-2 Arsenal

Renee Slegers vs West Ham United

Back to business in the Women's Super League and after two league games without a victory, we chalked up our second league win of the campaign against a stubborn West Ham United side.

A Caldentey penalty finally broke the deadlock in the 77th minute before Rosa Kafaji scored her first goal for the club as we went into the October international break in good shape.

GAME 3 - Man utd 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal Women vs Manchester United Women

A very late Melvine Malard equaliser from the hosts would be the only points dropped during Renée's interim spell, but we put in yet another positive performance on the road at Manchester United.

We created numerous chances in the second half as Russo notched her first league goal of the season against her former club. But we had to settle for a point thanks to Malard's goal in the 88th minute.

GAME 4 - Arsenal 5-0 Brighton

Frida Maanum vs Brighton 2

Under the lights at Emirates Stadium, we produced a dazzling display to notch up our first home win of the WSL campaign with a 5-0 victory over Brighton.

Frida Maanum scored the pick of the bunch with a sensational curling effort as we burst into a 3-0 half-time lead. Lina Hurtig and Russo again also got in on the act in the second half to give us a big home win.

game 5 - Juventus 0-4 Arsenal

Mariona Caldentey vs Juventus

The goals kept on coming as four days after our Brighton rout, we netted four more against Juventus in the Champions League.

Maanum gave us a half-time lead in Turin before Stina Blackstenius, Caldentey and Foord all found the net on a memorable night in Italy for Slegers and her stars as confidence came flooding back.

GAME 6 - Tottenham 0-3 Arsenal

Russo and Maanum vs Tottenham

Renée's first taste in the dugout of a derby day against Tottenham Hotspur proved to be one she enjoyed as the momentum kept building.

A lightning-quick start saw Russo volley us into a second-minute lead, and it only got better from there. Maanum's precise finish doubled the lead before Blackstenius scored shortly after the break to give us a dominant win on rival turf.

GAME 7 - Arsenal 1-0 Juventus

Arsenal Women vs Juventus Women

After back-to-back wins in the UWCL, victory over Juventus would guarantee a spot in the quarter-finals of the competition, and under the Emirates lights, we did just that.

Hurtig's 88th-minute winner made it four wins in a row, as well as four consecutive clean sheets as well as we continued to look on-song in both domestic and continental action.

GAME 8 - Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa

Stina Blackstenius vs Aston Villa

Russo's excellent goalscoring form continued as she netted twice in a dominant 4-0 victory over Villa. Following the striker's opener, Beth Mead tapped home before Blackstenius finished Katie McCabe's exquisite through ball.

Russo had time to put the shine on a fine afternoon's work, curling home a Goal of the Month winner to make it five straight wins in all competitions.

GAME 9 - Valerenga 1-3 Arsenal

Alessia Russo vs Valerenga

We may have conceded a first goal in five matches, but a controlled, professional performance in Oslo saw us run out 3-1 winners with yet more joy in front of goal for Russo.

The England international netted either side of Maanum's effort to set up a tantalising clash against Bayern Munich to determine who would finish top of the group.

GAME 10 - Liverpool 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal Women vs Liverpool Women Team Shot

Renée's side have found many ways to win football matches during her stint as boss, and that's exactly what we did up at Liverpool with a 1-0 victory.

It was Russo yet again who provided the goods on Merseyside to rack up a seventh straight win in all competitions and continue our climb up the WSL table.

GAME 11 - Arsenal 3-2 Bayern Munich

Mariona Caldentey vs Bayern Munich

We ended 2024 on a high with a sensational 3-2 victory over Bayern to top our Champions League group.

In torrid conditions, an own goal plus efforts from Russo and a penalty from Caldentey with just five minutes remaining helped us come from 2-1 down to prevail and cap off a memorable night.
