Supporters unite for spring clean in Islington

Last week, 15 fans representing a range of Arsenal supporters’ clubs came together to take part in a spring clean at the Islington Ecology Centre.

Just a stone’s throw from Emirates Stadium, the Ecology Centre is based in Gillespie Park and has long been a close partner of Arsenal in the Community. We regularly bring local groups from our community projects to the park for tours, workshops and educational activities.

The volunteers on the day represented a diverse mix of supporters' clubs, including the Arsenal Independent Supporters Association (AISA), Arsenal Women Supporters Club (AWSC), Arsenal Japan and Arsenal Ghana.

The initiative was supported by the Premier League Fans Fund, which provides grants to help clubs strengthen ties with their fans and local communities at all levels of the game.

Samir Singh, Arsenal Inclusion Manager, said, “For over 40 years, Arsenal in the Community has proudly focused on supporting local people. Through the Premier League Fans Fund, we’ve now been able to deepen our connection with the Arsenal fanbase – not just on matchdays, but through meaningful, community-driven initiatives that bring supporters together and make a lasting difference.”

Other projects supported by the Premier League Fans Fund include matchday food bank collections, fan tournaments at The Arsenal Hub, and beginners’ football sessions for women, which offer a fun, inclusive and welcoming way to enjoy the game.
