Pre-Match Report

U18s preview: Crystal Palace v Arsenal

preview

Our under-18s will be aiming to extend their winning streak to six matches as they make the short trip to south London to face Crystal Palace on Thursday, April 17. Kick-off is at 11am (UK).

Last time out, we came from behind to claim a 3-1 victory over Norwich City, with Dan Casey getting on the scoresheet and Max Dowman netting a brace. Dowman has now scored six goals in his last three appearances – a fine run of form for our in-form forward.

We currently sit fifth in the table on 34 points, just five points off the summit. Crucially, we have three games in hand on each side in the top three, keeping our title hopes alive.

The Opposition

Crystal Palace come into this fixture occupying third place, three points ahead of us, although they’ve played three more matches than our young Gunners.

The Eagles secured a 2-0 away win over West Brom in their last outing, with Euan Danaher scoring both goals. They’ve won four of their last five matches, with their only defeat in that run coming in a narrow 1-0 loss to Chelsea.

One to watch for Palace is their top scorer, Ben Casey, who has 10 goals and two assists from 22 league appearances this season.

When we met earlier this season at the Sobha Realty Training Centre, the match ended 1-1, with Brando Bailey-Joseph earning us a point in the second half.
