Our under-21s are set to play their penultimate match of the regular season as we host Derby County in Premier League 2. The match kicks off at 7pm (UK time) at Meadow Park.
Mehmet Ali’s side has been in excellent form, winning four of our last five matches while scoring 13 goals and conceding just five. Most recently, we secured a dominant victory away at Norwich City, with Michal Rosiak, Jimi Gower, and Will Sweet all finding the net.
With just two games left before the Premier League 2 play-offs, we’ll be aiming for a third consecutive win as we look to secure the best possible seeding.
The Opposition
Derby currently sit 21st in the table with 17 points from 18 games, placing them seven points adrift of 16th and officially out of play-off contention.
The Rams come into this match struggling for form, having lost their last four league games against Leeds United, Leicester City, West Ham United, and Stoke City. Their last Premier League 2 victory came back in January - a 1-0 win over Reading.
One player to watch is Lennon Wheeldon, who has six goals and one assist in 12 league appearances this season.
