After an extended break, our under-21s return to league action on Monday, October 28, with a trip to Lancashire to face Blackburn Rovers. Kick-off is set for 7pm (UK time).
Our last outing saw us battle to an eventful 2-2 draw against League Two side MK Dons in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
Blackburn endured a tough start to their league campaign, suffering five consecutive defeats. However, they bounced back earlier this month with a 3-2 victory over Leicester City, their first win in Premier League 2.
Since then, Blackburn has shown strong form in the Premier League International Cup, drawing with Benfica and securing a 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach last Tuesday. This unbeaten run over the past three games leaves them at the top of their group, so we’ll be facing a Rovers side in good form.
This fixture holds special memories from last season, as it marked the return of first-team player Jurrien Timber after a lengthy knee injury. He celebrated his comeback with a stunning goal from the edge of the box in a 2-2 draw, which you can watch below.
