This month’s pick for Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month, Mariona Caldentey continued to flourish in her debut Arsenal season in February.

Kicking it off with a goal against Manchester City in the opening minute, our number 8 followed that up with a key assist for Frida Maanum to earn the Player of the Match award.

She then struck from the spot against City in the Conti Cup a few days later, before joining the goalfest at Emirates Stadium as we beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-0.

EMILY FOX

Emily Fox continued her dominance at right back in February, combining defensive solidity with creativity and power in attack.

The US international’s goal to seal our 5-0 victory over Spurs was the pick of the bunch. With the seconds quickly ticking towards full time, Fox let fly outside the area with a glorious strike to ripple the roof of the net.

With that goal, our number 2 became our 11th different goalscorer in the league this season.

FRIDA MAANUM

Frida Maanum featured in all four games in February, playing two lots of 90 minutes and adding to her impressive goal tally in the process.

Our Norwegian struck against Manchester City less than a minute after Vivianne Miedema had levelled for the hosts. She then bagged our third against Tottenham Hotspur - her 12th goal in all competitions this season.

ALESSIA RUSSO

Alessia Russo celebrates scoring against Spurs

Our season’s joint top-scorer added to her tally once more in February, with a goal in the North London Derby. Our number 23 forced the game’s opener before picking up a goal of her own in the second half.

With Caitlin Foord racing towards goal on the counter-attack, the Australian laid the ball off to Russo on the right to complete the move with a quintessential first-time finish. Russo's dominant derby display also earned her the Player of the Match award.
