Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 24 when we face Barcelona in the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League at Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon! The game kicks off at 5pm BST (6pm CET).
We booked our place in the final for the first time since 2007 courtesy of a 4-1 win away to Lyon in the semi-final second leg on Sunday, made all the more impressive by the fact we were trailing 2-1 on aggregate after the first leg.
Barcelona, meanwhile, produced back-to-back 4-1 wins over Chelsea to win their semi-final 8-2 on aggregate.
They topped Group D earlier this season with 15 points from six matches, while we managed the same record at the top of Group C.
Barcelona are the competition’s current champions, having won their third title with a 2-0 win over Lyon in Bilbao last year.
As for us, we’ll be looking to etch our name on the trophy for the second time, having last won what was then known as the UEFA Cup with a 1-0 victory over Uema 18 years ago.
Whether you’re booking your flight and heading to the home of Sporting Lisbon or planning to watch the action from afar, May 24 is a date not to be missed!
