It has been a week of celebration for two of our recent Hale End success stories, with Myles Lewis-Skelly receiving his first England call-up, and Ethan Nwaneri turning 18 and featuring for the Three Lions at under-21 level.
And with it being an international break, thereβs no better time to reflect on the pair's journey, as well as many other recognisable faces from our famed academy, by checking out our Inside Hale End documentary.
Offering unprecedented insight into our quest to develop future first-team stars, the six-part series follows the paths of our under-15 and under-16 squads during the 2022/23 campaign when Myles and Ethan were making their way through the age groups, taking an in-depth glimpse into what it means to be an aspiring footballer.
For the first time, cameras were allowed on-site to follow staff including academy manager Per Mertesacker as they helped the next generation plot a course from Hale End to London Colney, thanks to their first professional contract.
The series covers various topics that the Hale End staff and players must face during a season at the academy. These include the 2021/22 cup run, how scouts identify talent for the academy, life on the road and player graduation.
Check out the trailer below for a flavour of what was captured, and enjoy the six episodes at your leisure with our playlist!
