William Saliba and Jakub Kiwior both played all of France’s 1-1 draw with Poland at Euro 2024 on Tuesday.

William was called into action in the 34th minute to block a header from Robert Lewandowski, before Jakub brought down Ousmane Dembele in the second half for a penalty.

Kylian Mbappe slotted it into the bottom right corner but Poland then got a penalty themselves following a foul by Dayot Upamecano.

Lewandowski saw it saved by Mike Maignan, but the France goalkeeper had come off of his line, so the penalty was retaken, Lewandowski finding the bottom left corner with his second attempt for 1-1.

Poland had already been eliminated from Euro 2024 before the match, but for France the draw meant that they finished second in Group D, behind Austria who beat third-placed Netherlands 3-2.

Next up, France will face the team that finishes second in Group E, which could be Romania, Belgium, Slovakia or Ukraine at 5pm BST on Monday, July 1 in the round of 16.

Later in the day, Bukayo Saka played 71 minutes of England’s 0-0 draw with Slovenia while Declan Rice played the full 90 and Aaron Ramsdale was an unused substitute.

Bukayo tapped the ball into an empty net in the 21st minute after a cross from Phil Foden, but the Manchester City forward was flagged offside.

Declan fired an effort wide of the post after bursting into the penalty area in the 76th minute and Gareth Southgate’s side ultimately had to settle for a point.

They finished top of Group C with five points and were the only team in the group to win a game.

In the round of 16, The Three Lions will play one of the four best third-placed teams at 5pm BST on Sunday, June 30. They are currently Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary, but Czech Republic could also still finish in the top four of the third-placed teams.
