Supporters got their first glimpse of Mariona Caldentey in an Arsenal shirt yesterday when she featured in our pre-season friendly against Chelsea.
As her first trip with the squad comes to an end, our summer signing chatted pitchside after the game alongside her Spanish teammate, Laia Codina.
"It was nice to play the first minutes with the team," said Mariona. "Of course, I wanted and we wanted to win, so it's not perfect, but I think it's a good start.
"We need to keep going. We need to know more about each other and create a connection, but I'm happy with how I feel on the pitch, so let’s go for more."
"The girls gave a good welcome to Mariona," Laia reflected. "We're happy to have her here with us, and I'm sure that she is truly excited to help us a lot to win as many trophies."
