Loan Watch: Tavares assists twice against Milan

Nuno debut

Nuno Tavares impressed on his debut for Lazio on the weekend, registering two assists in a 2-2 draw with AC Milan.

Strahinja Pavlovic gave Milan an early lead but Tavares crossed for Valentin Castellanos to equalise in the 62nd minute. He then made a dangerous overlapping run moments later and was able to cross for Boulaye Dia to turn the game on its head.

Lazio couldn’t hold on though, with Rafael Leao netting an equaliser for Milan. Lazio are now eighth in Serie A with four points from three games.

Over in La Liga, Albert Sambi Lokonga played 63 minutes of Sevilla’s 0-0 draw away to RCD Mallorca on Tuesday. Sevilla were reduced to ten men following Saul’s 89th minute red card.

Sambi then played 90 minutes of Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at home to Girona. Ivan Martin gave Girona the lead before Abel Ruiz made sure of the win from the penalty spot.

Sevilla are 19th in La Liga with two points from four games.

Four places above them are Real Valladolid, despite Saturday’s 7-0 defeat away to Barcelona, which Karl Hein played 90 minutes of. Karl did keep his second clean sheet for the side last week though in a 0-0 draw at home to CD Leganes on Wednesday.

In the second round of the Carabao Cup, Charles Sagoe Jr played 90 minutes of Shrewsbury Town’s 2-0 defeat at home to Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday, goals from Jordi Osei-Tutu and Dion Charles enough to claim the win for the away side.

Last but not least, Jack Henry Francis came on in the 88th minute of Sligo Rovers’ 2-0 win at home to Waterford on Saturday, Wilson Waweru and Simon Power scoring the goals that moved Sligo up to third in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
