We spoke to Alessia Russo to mark the launch of our brand-new Arsenal x Aries collection.

Our number 23 stars in the announcement film alongside Beth Mead, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and a host of famous faces.

She discussed the range, being on-set and what makes Arsenal so uniquely placed to work with a streetwear brand.

Check out the Arsenal x Aries range now

Alessia, you’re a key part of the Arsenal x Aries launch. What are your thoughts on the range?
I love the range. It’s so cool. I’ve always been into fashion so mixing the two is something I have really enjoyed with this collaboration.

Do you have a favourite piece?
I love the J’adoro Arsenal red shirt. It’s cute and a unique piece to wear to support your team but also aligned with many fashion trends too.

The launch film features a choir performing Arsenal songs a cappella. How did it feel when you first heard them sing?
The a cappella is such a cool concept. It is something I’ve not seen before and filming for it was a fun experience. It was nice to interact with all the people in the video as they all have links to Arsenal – it’s nice to connect the stories.

Beth also features in the video. Besides the two of you, which of your teammates would best suit the collection?
I think there are a few girls that are into their fashion, but I think Lotte would suit a lot of the clothes. I always think she rocks whatever she wears! I like her style.

Are you looking forward to seeing supporters wearing items in the stands at future games?
I think the supporters will love this collection and I can’t wait to see them wearing it at the Emirates. Football and fashion collide in many ways and this collection is a really cool way that brings football and sports to fashion.

What in your view makes Arsenal and Aries such perfect partners?
I think Aries and Arsenal are a great match as they both align with the same values of creativity and self-expression. It’s a brand that wants to give people freedom to express themselves!
