On July 28, 2024, Arsenal Football Development’s affiliated club UFA headed to Philadelphia to join Arsenal on their pre-season tour. Their team was composed of the directors, all from Atlanta.
Like with each Arsenal pre-season tour, there are events scheduled around our friendlies to allow for further interactions with the fans, partners, and affiliates.
Open Training and VIP Q&A with Mikel Arteta and coaching staff:
UFA’s first event was on Monday the 29th at the Philadelphia Union Stadium where Arsenal was conducting their training sessions. UFA stated that “it was a terrific opportunity to watch players in their training environment and we got to interact with them after the session. Following the up-close experience with the squad, we had the amazing opportunity to take part in a VIP Q&A with the boss himself, Mikel Arteta as well as Albert Stuivenberg (assistant manager) and Nicolas Jover (set-piece coach). The access was outstanding and seeing their humility was the experience of a lifetime”.
Meeting with Arsenal Football Development and Adidas
A meeting took place between Arsenal Football Development, UFA and Adidas to discuss the first couple of years of working together and brainstorm the opportunities for the future.
Arsenal vs Liverpool – 31st July 2024 – Lincoln Financial Field
The final experience was enjoying the Arsenal vs Liverpool game at Lincoln Financial Stadium. UFA got a pitchside tour where they were able to watch the teams warm up and then they could enjoy the game from the suite which had a great view of the field.
It was a pleasure to be able to host UFA. They stated that they “want to thank Arsenal Football Development and Adidas for the opportunity to join them in Philadelphia as Arsenal completed their USA preseason tour”.
