Arsenal in the Community, in partnership with the Kevin Campbell Foundation, has officially launched the Kevin Campbell Award, which will honor those who have shown exceptional dedication in our Coach Development Programme.
The award will be presented annually to a coach on the programme who is voted by their peers as having shown the most dedication throughout the course.
This year’s event, held at The Arsenal Hub, was attended by Arsenal legend and Kevin’s former team-mate, Alan Smith, who spoke movingly to our coaches about their relationship. He shared memories of the famous night in 1994 when Kevin scored the winner in our European Cup Winners’ Cup semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.
The recipient of the Kevin Campbell Award will be announced and celebrated during the second half of this season. We were also joined by Gary King, a close friend of Kevin’s and trustee of the Kevin Campbell Foundation. Gary shared heartfelt words about Kevin, touching on his achievements in football but also his significant contributions off the pitch.
The Kevin Campbell Foundation said, “Creating this award in Kevin’s name, and recognising an outstanding participant in Arsenal’s Coach Development Programme each season is a testament to Kevin’s legacy, which continues to inspire.”
