Name: Peter Hill-Wood

Born: February 25, 1936

Arsenal board member since 1962, the same year as his father, Denis Hill-Wood, became chairman.

Grandfather Sir Samuel Hill-Wood was also Arsenal chairman between 1927 and 1936, and a second spell between 1946 and 1948.

Mr Hill-Wood became chairman of Arsenal Football Club following the death of his predecessor and father Denis Hill-Wood in May 1982.

Former vice-chairman of Hambros Bank.

Mr Hill-Wood was the third generation of the Hill-Wood family to serve as chairman of Arsenal Football Club. The family originally came from Glossop, Derbyshire, with Mr Hill-Wood's father, three uncles and grandfather all playing first-class cricket for Derbyshire CCC.

Before becoming involved with Arsenal, the Hill-Wood family also had close associations with Glossop North End FC. The Derbyshire town Glossop still remains by far the smallest town to have hosted a top flight English club (in 1899/1900).
