Alex Scott says women’s football can learn from the high standards set by Manchester City.
City recently joined Bristol Academy and Sunderland by becoming the latest Women’s Super League One side to play at their own purpose-built stadium at Sportcity in Manchester.
Four Gunners have already played at the Academy Stadium this season, in England’s 2-1 win against China, and Scott is looking forward to returning for a tough challenge.

“The stadium’s amazing,” the defender told Arsenal.com. “It’s got great facilities and I think that’s the way forward for women’s football in this country.
“They’re setting standards for everyone involved in women’s football so it’s for the rest of us to follow that.
“Playing at Manchester City is going to be tough. They’re probably the most aggressive team in the league. We’re looking to compete and then the talent we’ve got in this team will then shine through, but it’s about competing first and winning that physical battle.
“It’s really tough but we’ve got a good spell where the team’s together now after international breaks and hopefully we can push on. We still need to click in the final third a bit, but it’s early days and I’m excited to see what our squad can achieve.”
