Olivier Giroud claimed an assist in France’s 2-1 win against the Republic of Ireland. Robbie Brady gave Martin O’Neill’s side the lead just two minutes in from the penalty spot after Shane Long had been brought down by Paul Pogba. Antoine Griezmann then equalised with a powerful header in the 57th minute, before Giroud’s clever flick set up the Atletico Madrid forward's second to book France’s place in the quarter-finals. Laurent Koscielny played the full 90 minutes.
