There are already plenty of Arsenal fans in America's vast Southwest, but Malena Barajas, manager of the Southern Arizona Armoury, says they are working to grow into a big Arsenal-supporting communuity.
"Southern Arizona Armoury is making progress toward more exposure in our community," she said. "We know the Arsenal supporters are out there. We want to bring them all together, so we collectively experience the joys - and even the heartache - of supporting the best team in the world.
Year established: 2010
Number of active members: "We have 30 members. Usually we have 10-12 at a match. For big matches, we've have had 30 supporters and guests."
Where our members hail from: "Mostly Tucsonans. But we have members from Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Texas and a new member from Sudan."
Group's favorite Arsenal moment: "Beating Barcelona in the first leg of the round of 16 in ECL this past season. It was a nice morale boost for the team and the fans. The second leg, well, that's another story."
Group's favorite players: "Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Jack Wilshere. Wojciech Szczesny is tugging at some heart strings."
Why we are Gooners: "What else would we be? We love the game, and we love the way the Arsenal play it."
Why Americans should be Arsenal fans: "Americans should be Arsenal fans because Arsenal is a diverse club rich in history with a philosophy to win in style. Victory Through Harmony."
