The Arsenal Soccer School Dubai is opening its doors again for a new term starting Monday, September 10.
Based at The 7evens Stadium, Dubai’s leading sports facility, the 12-week course is open to children aged between four and 20 years of age, and offers them the chance to learn to play ‘the Arsenal way’.
In recent seasons first-team stars have visited the setting and met participants, with Hector Bellerin, Calum Chambers and Rob Holding taking part in a training session with students in March this year before sharing tips on what it takes to become a professional player and signing items for the lucky children in attendance.
The club's joint venture with global partner Emirates Airline opened in October 2009, and provides progressive courses, each building on the skills learnt in the last course, thus enabling the children to develop confidence on the pitch while having fun through play. Since opening some 5,000 children have enjoyed developing their skills at the venue.
The school's head coach is former Gunner Ian Selley, who made his debut for the club in 1992 and made 60 appearances - winning the FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup.
