We started the second leg of the semi-final well, with Gabriel Martinelli full of running and Alexandre Lacazette hitting the crossbar from a free-kick.
But that was as good as it got for us on the night, with Diogo Jota's mishit finish rolling past Aaron Ramsdale for the opener in the first half.
Jota scored again after the break, when VAR overturned an on-field offside decision, and our misery was compounded late on when substitute Thomas Partey was dismissed for two bookings in quick succession.
