Arsenal Ladies are playing catch-up in the Women's Premier League after their season was delayed by international commitments. But the champions began their climb up the table in style by thrashing Doncaster 8-1 on Sunday.
Gemma Davison opened the scoring in the 14th minute but the Belles hit back six minutes later. It was a temporary blip for Arsenal as Davison restored their advantage almost immediately.
Kim Little, Faye White and Rachel Yankey all struck to make it 5-1 at the break. In the second half Helen Lander hit the sixth, Little scored her second and Jennifer Beattie rounded things off with 16 minutes left.
