Our victory against Fulham on Sunday was the 100th of the Mikel Arteta era.
It took 168 matches for us to reach the milestone – the boss has also drawn 24 and lost the other 44 – meaning his win percentage (59.5%) is the highest for any permanent Arsenal manager in history.
Next on that list is our most successful ever boss in terms of trophies, Arsène Wenger, who registered a 58 per cent win rate across his 1,235 games in charge. By way of comparison it took Arsène 184 matches to bring up his 100th win.
Mikel’s first win arrived in his third game, at home to Manchester United on New Year’s Day 2020 in the Premier League. Sokratis and Nicolas Pepe scored in a 2-0 victory. His biggest win so far came in the Carabao Cup in 2021, 6-0 away to West Brom on August 25, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring a hat-trick.
Mikel’s century came in five different competitions (70 of them in Premier League matches) and against 38 different teams.
The teams he’s beaten most often are Leeds and Leicester City (six times each), and he’s won at least once on every day of the week – mostly on Sunday (29 times) then Saturdays (28).
The most common winning scorelines are 1-0 and 2-0 (17 times each) and exactly half of the wins have come at the Emirates.
There have been three wins at Wembley, including the 2020 FA Cup final against Chelsea. That was the manager’s 28th game in charge.
We also won the Community Shield at Wembley after a penalty shoot out, that’s one of two victories in the 100 that were secured on penalties – both, incidentally, against Liverpool.
So far this season we have won 27 games in all competitions, already more than in the whole of the last campaign.

Mikel is the ninth Arsenal manager to bring up a ton, but he has a long way to go to reach the top of that particular list; Arsène secured 716 victories during his 22-year tenure.
Speaking about the milestone after the game on Sunday, the boss said: “It’s great, we have to continue like that, I’m delighted to do that, unfortunately, it’s not a title, so there’s still a lot to improve!
“But it is incredible and that means that we have a lot of people doing the right things at the club. In the team a lot of players contributing immensely and especially the support that we have, which in my opinion, has absolutely transformed this team with that energy, so I’m really happy.”
