A closely contested first half was edged in favour of the visitors when Shanade Hopcroft found the net from distance.

A second 45 turnaround was sparked by substitutes Lisa Baum and Chloe Kelly, who both took their chances superbly to earn a deserved victory.

FIRST HALF

Our first chance of the affair fell to Abi Conway, who Alessia Russo picked out after neatly turning her marker, but the effort was straight at Pauline Peyraud-Magnin.

Caitlin Foord was then brought down just outside the Palace area, with Olivia Smith forcing the goalkeeper into another early stop. Smith’s resulting corner went begging, with no red shirt there to tap home from a yard out.

The away side took the lead on 25 minutes through Hopcroft, who picked up a loose ball and fired a long-range effort beyond Misa Rodriguez.

We came close to finding an equaliser when Smith and Russo linked up on the left flank, with the latter creating space to let fire, forcing Peyraud-Magnin into a diving save.

SECOND HALF

Both sides returned with fully changed elevens, as we began the second half on the front foot. Sophie Harwood pulled the strings to tee up summer signing Baum, who stung the gloves of a fresh Shae Yanez.

And it was the German newcomer who levelled the scores with 15 minutes to play, expertly picked out by Bryony-Rose Brodie from the edge of the box before dancing inside and firing high into the Eagles' net.

The comeback was complete late on, when Kelly coolly controlled a high ball before steering a half-volley beyond Yanez and into the far corner.
